How Is Overseas Trade Fair Support Calculated? (2026)

Under Presidential Decree No. 5973 on Export Support, the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade covers part of the costs of companies exhibiting with a stand at trade fairs abroad. The support is not calculated invoice by invoice but per square metre. In this guide we walk through the calculation step by step, using the figures for a real fair.

The Formula

Support amount = stand area (m²) × the fair's support base amount (TRY/m²). The result cannot exceed the per-fair cap.

The support base amount is the per-square-metre figure in TRY that the Ministry announces separately for each supported fair. In the Ministry's annual fair list, each fair has a general amount and a separate column for the target country/target sector and micro and small enterprise amount.

Rates

The support base amount is set as a share of the approximate total cost per square metre:

• General: up to 50%
• Fairs in a target country: up to 70%
• Exhibitors operating in a target sector in a target country: up to 75%
• Micro and small enterprises: 75%, regardless of country or sector

2026 Caps (Per Fair)

• General fair: TRY 738,563
• Sectoral fair: TRY 1,231,848
• Prestigious fair: TRY 3,698,274

The caps are updated at the start of each calendar year, and the cap for the year in which the fair takes place applies. The cap is the maximum payable per fair, not an annual total per company.

Example: SIMEM (Oran, Algeria) — 2026 Figures

SIMEM is a healthcare fair on the Ministry's 2026 list. The 2026 figures are: support base amount TRY 12,975/m²; target country/target sector and micro and small enterprise amount TRY 13,901/m²; per-fair cap TRY 1,231,848.

• 16 m² stand, general amount: 16 × 12,975 = TRY 207,600
• 16 m² stand, target sector or micro and small enterprise: 16 × 13,901 = TRY 222,416
• Both results are below the cap, so the full amount counts.

Amounts may change once the 2027 list is published. This example only illustrates the method; the final amount is determined when your application is reviewed.

How Many Fairs per Year?

Support covers up to 5 fairs starting in a calendar year, or 10 for micro and small enterprises. A company can receive support for the same fair up to 10 times, and prestigious fair support is limited to 2 fairs per year.
